GCTW Impact Stories

These reports - written by GCTW members from undergraduate researchers to Principal Investigators - capture the impact of the GCTW program on the local, regional, and global scale. We are proud to work with communities and leaders to develop critical climate resilience strategies around the world.

  • GCTW Researchers Lead Community-Based Participatory Research on Water and Climate Resilience in the City of Toronto

    GCTW researchers hosted five sessions for intercultural and intergenerational dialogue across Toronto for attendees to share perspectives, concerns, and thoughts about climate change, water change, and community resilience.

  • GCTW Researchers Host a Session at the International Public Policy Association (ICPP7) - Chiang Mai, Thailand

    Dr. Carolyn Johns and Dr. Debora VanNijnatten led discussions on participatory traditions in public policy and the urgent challenges of climate change that demand innovative policy responses involving deeper community engagement.

  • The Global Center Hosts an International Joint Commission (IJC) Meeting at the University of Michigan

    The Global Center hosted the International Joint Commission’s executive committee at University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability for a two-day gathering.

  • Research and Relationship Building in Malawi

    GCTW research affiliate Rachel Hoops led a research trip in Malawi focused on governance response to water resource needs, community outreach, and hydropower technology collaboration.
