Impact Statement

The Global Center for Climate Change and Transboundary Waters (GCTW) is an international research association committed to generating and leading resilience strategies to water challenges in global transboundary regions. GCTW stands at the forefront of advancing crucial water management solutions that support life, economies, and ecosystems in the face of a changing climate.

Our impact is the result of multifaceted, interdisciplinary work with diverse communities, extraordinary researchers, and present and future leaders. GCTW engages transboundary regions that are experiencing socio-climatic change due to geographical, historical, and future challenges, and our five nation collaborative works to nurture lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships with at-risk communities. GCTW’s research teams specialize in Ecosystem and Water Quality Monitoring, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Climate Ready Communities and Governance, and Hydro-climate Modeling. The Global Center’s work is founded on the values and principles of Indigenous Knowledge and Western Science, and it remains the Center’s mission to prioritize multiple ways of knowing to serve diverse communities in transboundary regions to achieve lasting climate resilience.
