Dr. Rebecca Turpin

Rebecca Turpin brings to the Advisory Board nearly two decades of comprehensive experience in various governmental roles within Canadian federal and territorial domains. In 2020, she was appointed Director of the Climate Change Secretariat within the Government of Yukon, and in 2025 she became Assistant Deputy Minister for community development in the Yukon Department of Community Services, a portfolio that includes numerous climate-related issues. 

Rebecca’s previous roles include serving as a Senior Program Officer with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, a Senior Policy Advisor, and an intergovernmental relations analyst at the Parks Canada Agency, as well as the Manager of Strategic Planning and Reporting with Polar Knowledge Canada. Her climate leadership included spearheading climate change-related policy formulation, notably shaping the Yukon’s recently bolstered climate, energy, and green economy strategy titled "Our Clean Future”.
