Mr. Mike Goffin

Mike Goffin had an extensive career spanning over four decades within the Canadian federal government and brings expertise to the Advisory Board in environmental protection, wildlife management, meteorology, water and ecosystem management, intergovernmental affairs, and community outreach and engagement.

Mike is the former Regional Director General for Environment and Climate Change Canada in Ontario and played a pivotal role in policy development and program delivery across diverse environmental domains. He led the creation of the Canada Water Agency in 2023 involving the most extensive review of freshwater policy and management in Canada since the 1980s and a two-year national consultation and engagement process. He played a central role in establishing strategic priorities for the new agency, recruiting a leadership team, and modernizing the Canada Water Act before retiring in 2024.
