Dr. Jeff Ridal

Jeff Ridal brings to the Advisory Board his experience as Executive Director of the River Institute, a role he assumed in 2008 after serving as a research scientist starting in 1995. Jeff’s work focuses on water quality and sediment research with a specialization in understanding contaminant transport and bioaccumulation within food webs. His insights extend to the efficient organizational management of a distinctive community partnership that unites governments, educators, businesses, industries, and the Mohawks of Akwesasne along the transboundary region of the St. Lawrence River.

In 2008, Jeff was appointed as the Canadian Co-Chair of the Science Priority Committee for the International Joint Commission (IJC). Currently, he serves in an advisory capacity on the Commission's Science Advisory Board.
