Hunter Wilkes
Hunter Wilkes is a Master’s student at the School for Environment and Sustainability pursuing a degree in Geospatial Data Sciences. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from The University of Texas at Austin and has professional experience in both the public and private sectors as an environmental regulatory specialist and sustainability consultant in real estate. Returning to academia, Hunter is advancing his climate risk research by using machine learning and statistical downscaling techniques to improve the accuracy and spatial resolution of flood risk projections under extreme precipitation events. His hobbies include nature photography, stargazing, and spending time with his two cats.
